Herb Lemon Balm is an easy to grow variety for the garden. Their fragrant leaves contain an essential oil content of .4% and are perfect for making lemon-scented tea. Their leaves can also be used in salads and drinks for a fresh lemony taste.

Can be sown indoors all year round or directly outside from May to August. Surface sow them onto moist seed compost. Cover with a fine sprinkling of soil as they need light to germinate. Keep their soil moist at all times. Transplant indoor-grown seedlings once they've grown their first set of true leaves (the second set of leaves to grow). Plant outside once the danger of frost has passed. Cut back after flowering to encourage fresh growth. Can become invasive if left to self-seed.
