Matteuccia struthiopteris

Matteuccia struthiopteris, known as Ostrich Fern, is a striking deciduous fern well-suited to Irish gardens. It produces tall, feathery fronds that can reach up to 1.5m, resembling the plumes of an ostrich’s tail. Thriving in moist, shaded, and well-drained soils, it’s ideal for woodland gardens, shaded borders, or alongside streams and ponds.
