Sow indoors from February-April. A warm windowsill is perfect for starting off these seeds. Sow thinly on the surface of a small tray of pre-watered compost. Place in a warm, light position. A temperature of 20-25°C (68-77°F) is ideal. Keep the compost moist. Germination is usually between 14-21 days. They can then be transplanted at 5cm (2") apart, when large enough to handle. Grow on in cooler, but not cold conditions. Gradually accustom young plants to outdoors once all frosts have passed, from May-June, 25cm (10") apart, into well-drained soil. Flowers from June to October.
