Beetroot

Beta vulgaris is a root vegetable grown for its sweet, earthy-flavoured roots and nutritious foliage. It offers smooth, rounded roots with tender flesh and vibrant colour, reaching around 5-10 cm in diameter at maturity. It is best grown in light, fertile, well drained soil in full sun, with a typical cropping period of around 55-70 days from sowing.
