Carnations 'Dianthus' Mix will provide a variety of fancy frilled flowers for your summer displays. Fragrant and full of colour, these carnations produce a mixture of beautiful shades, from yellows to deep reds and pretty pinks. Sow seeds from Jan-May or outside from June-Oct.

Sow under cover at 8-10 weeks before the last day of frost, which is often in May. Can be sown later as a bi-annual to flower the following year. These seeds need lots of light to germinate. Press each seed lightly into the soil's surface and do not cover, keeping the soil moist. Germination can take around 10-14 days. Transplant to separate pots or trays when large enough to handle, moving them outside after any danger of frost has past. For a striking display, plant in groups of 3-4 seedlings. Space seedlings about 30cm apart. Plant out in full sun and a rich, well-drained soil.
