Chamomile Matricaria is grown for their daisy-like flowers white petals with a yellow conical centre. They are also used in chamomile tea and aromatherapy. The plant is a hardy annual with feathery leaves said to be apple scented. It grows to a height of between 20-30cm. Flowers from June-October. Germination is usually within 10 to 14 days.

Ideal for surface sowing, regardless of whether growing indoors or outdoors. Press the seeds gently into the compost, as they need sunlight to germinate. Ideal for indoor sowing from March to May as they need warmth to germinate too, which can be provided by a heated propagator or greenhouse. Will germinate within 10-14 days if given perfect growing conditions. If growing outdoors for a lawn effect, plant seeds 30cm apart as they will soon spread to form a clump-like matting. Cut the flowers from June-October when they are fully open.
