A popular with veg growers, the dwarf French Bean grows typically to 40cm. They are self supporting and sturdy and will produce a prolific harvest. Requires a full sun position for best results.

Sow indoors at 2.5cm deep into individual pots of compost. Water well and place in a warm position. Keep moist. Seedlings usually appear in 7-14 days. Gradually accustom the plants to outdoors, once all frosts have passed. Planting out 30cm apart, when frosts are over. Allow 45cm between Sow outdoors where the beans are to crop at 5cm deep, directly into finely prepared soil which has already been watered. Sow 30cm between each position. Allow 45cm between rows. Water well until plants are established. Pick beans regularly to encourage further cropping. For the earliest crops sow in April and protect with cloches.
